HOW WE BEGAN.

I, like many, struggled with vanity sizing growing up, which is ever-present in our lives today. To find clothing that actually fit, often became a compromise on quality, ethical values, or both... Clothing that wasn’t made to last, over-stated, over-sized or simply just over-produced, spewing textile garbage all over our planet.

WE THOUGHT, SURELY THERE'S A BETTER WAY?

From the beginning, we had no intention of starting out, only to repeat the same mistakes we witnessed every day, from the smallest of start-ups to the retail giants. Our attention to detail got the better of us, so we instantly took a more hands-on approach, manufacturing within an hour of our homes to oversee every step of production.

Offshore production was simply not an option, nor would we compromise the health of our workers, or the environment, so we chose the finest organic cotton available to us, and that’s just the beginning.

We strongly believe in the power of locally made goods, and our local artisans in Melbourne are the foundation of what makes BLEK.BASIC our mission in life.. to provide you with ethically made and thoughtfully considered garments, made with purpose. ✌️
